Thales’s online management strategy game now available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

Moonshield (www.moonshield.com), developed in 2008 by KTM Advance as part of a broader effort to increase Thales’s attractiveness as a future employer, is a serious game* that introduces players to the Group and its businesses in a fun and compelling way. Players use Thales technology, systems and products to protect the Earth from a meteor shower that threatens to destroy all civilisation. Players can draw on the entire range of Thales’s scientific resources as part of the game.
Building on the major success of the game (played nearly 350,000 times, more than 7,000 regular players), Thales is pursuing its innovative recruitment communications strategy in line with the changing habits of its target audience. A new application for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch adapted from the online game by Playsoft now makes game highlights accessible at all times on portable devices. With the new application, available from the App Store and iTunes, players can also connect directly to Thales’s recruitment website (www.jobs.thalesgroup.com) and the Moonshield page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/MoonshieldTHALES).

Loïc Mahé, SVP, Human Resources, said: “In order to pursue its development, Thales is recruiting 4,000 people worldwide this year alone. Moonshield has been a great success ever since its launch, and making it available on new platforms allows us to extend our recruitment efforts and attract new talent – people who are curious and adventurous and will be a perfect fit for the exciting careers our company offers.”

“Making Moonshield available on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch is a major innovation in the serious games market,” said Yves Dambach, CEO of KTM Advance. “We are very proud of this version of the game that we designed and created for Thales, and Playsoft has done an excellent job of adapting it for the growing mobile platform market. This operation proves the quality and enduring attraction of the Moonshield game, which has been a great success since it went online nearly two years ago.”

“As a leader in the development of iPhone applications, Playsoft is proud to have worked on the porting of Moonshield,” said Nicolas Bensignor, president and founder of Playsoft. “Synergy between Thales, KTM and Playsoft has produced a technological innovation in the field of human resources, giving us an opportunity to enhance our strategic positioning in the market for mobile applications in France.”
